Stunning in its simplicity, this bell from Denmark is an exclusive design of the Bell Collectors Club. It is created in graduated shades of blue accented with gold, and adorned with a single Morning Glory rendered in exquisite detail.
The soft, subtle blue underglaze is a hallmark of Bing & Grondahl porcelain. It is applied by hand and is one the many refinements introduced over the years by the world-famous Danish firm. Bing & Grondahl opened its doors in Copenhagen in 1853. Its founders were Frederick Wilhelm Grondahl, a talented porcelain modeler from Demark's Royal Porcelain Works, and Jacob and Meyer Bing, wealthy and cultured Copenhagen merchants.
From the start, the company sought to attract the best designers and decorators and give them ample opportunity to express their artistry. This approach is maintained by the current management, who are descendants of the Bing brothers. It has led to the high esteem in which Bing & Grondahl is held by discriminating collectors, including the Danish royal family.
Bell includes collectors card from the Bell Collectors Club.
