Copper tips may be reshaped after repeated use with a file or emery cloth. After filing, clean with damp sponge and re-tin.
Initial Tip Tinning Cover working are of tip thoroughly with solder after solder reaches melting point (about 60-90 seconds). Let tip idle for 2 or 3 minutes.
Do Not Wipe! add more solder and idle for a few more minutes. Wipe on a damp sponge. Immediately add fresh solder to tip. For added convenience, use Radio Shack Soldering Iron Holder/Cleaner.
